And the Winner of the ‘Halloween Returns’ Contest is…
First, let me just say this: Apologies for the one-day delay on making this announcement. I had a personal emergency pop up mid-day yesterday that pulled me away from all things interweb. I was excited to get the winning entry announced, but sometimes life throws you a curve ball and there isn’t much we can do about that!
Now, let me get into some of these submissions.
After all was said and done, there were some very, very engaging reads that left me completely satisfied and overjoyed. And they’re going to leave you completely satisfied as well, I guarantee it! Some wildly original stories came rolling in and picking a winner was a genuine challenge.
Needless to say, there is indeed going to be an anthology released, and it will be made available for download tonight, or early tomorrow, with an INSANELY cool cover provided by HNR stud, Chad Lutzke. Just too many damn good tales to not offer up a SLICK package for not only you contributors, but the legions of Halloween fans across the globe.
I won’t be unveiling the full lineup until the anthology is prepared and uploaded for your reading pleasure.
But I will be announcing the winning story. Right now!
Kevin Wetmore’s “Ben Tramer’s Not Going to Homecoming” is this contests grand prize winner!
Despite all the seriously awesome submissions we took in, this is the one that truly hit home for me. The focus on a Halloween bit-player worked wonders for me. Getting to know Ben a whole hell of a lot better than ever before also tickled my fancy.
Kevin’s writing is realistic, capturing the essence of teenage life (and dialogue) beautifully, and filling in holes that a lot of us have long wondered about.
The greatest compliment I can give is this: Kevin, you beat out some wickedly cool stories!
So, what I need you to do for me is send me an email at darioargento81@live.com so we can get you all squared up with moolah and get our promotional plans for ANY project you’re interested in in motion!
Congratulations my friend. Your story kicked seasonal ass!
I anxiously await who else created what. An enthusiastic hooray for Kevin Wetmore ! Cheers to you and your story ….

congrats Kevin. I too am waiting to read it. I admit the idea of taking lesser known character from the franchise and telling his story interests me a great deal.

Wow! I am so stoked, honored and excited. I love “Halloween” and Halloween and was really happy to even just have the opportunity to explore Ben, who Laurie Strode wanted to go to Homecoming with. Really honored for this and thanks for all the congratulations from the folks above. I look forward to reading the other stories. Like Matt said, I bet they’re all wickedly cool and I am stoked to have my work appear with them in the anthology.
