Columbkill Noonan ‘Night Woods’ Review
Written by: David Blackthorn
This was a story about a young woman who goes to a small town to do her research for her school thesis. The concept is not a bad one: a young woman in a small town which contains a terrifying secret, dating back for decades. The story itself is very slow, not giving us any action until about halfway through the young woman is nearly raped by a monster living in a large pond.
The overall story seems to be more of a romance, though a paranormal romance would fit the label. Those looking for a paranormal romance might get into this one, as long as they don’t mind the slow pace. Horror fans will most likely pass this one by.
The story itself was well written, easy to follow and the author certainly has a taken for writing. The story flows rather nicely and the writing style is good. That definitely earns some points, and the core concept is not a bad one, at all. It’s just too slow to appeal to horror fans.
Give it a try, right here.
