Dark Arts Books to Release ‘Redemption’, the Sequel to the Bram Stoker Award-winning ‘Covenant’
I’ve got a soft spot in my heart for John Everson. The man’s just an awesome guy and his work is absolutely top notch. His twisted tales of ultra-violence and eroticism just seem to work for me. That’s why you’re reading this article, because we need to come together to help ensure John’s latest, Redemption, not only gets made, but also finds traction with a whole new lot of fanatical consumers.
It’s a John Everson book – it’s going to rock, plain and simple!
I’m going to share the press release for you all right now, so pay close attention, visit John’s Kickstarter page and put a few bucks toward a great cause!
In January 2017, the long-awaited sequel to John Everson’s Bram Stoker Award-winning first novel COVENANT and its erotic horror sequel SACRIFICE will be released. The first two novels were published eight years ago by Leisure Books and are currently with 47North Publishing. There is currently a crowdfunding Kickstarter effort underway for REDEMPTION with offers of autographed copies, having your name included in the book and more.

“I always wanted to write a third book in the Covenant series, to tell what happened to two of my favorite characters that I’ve ever written,” Everson says. “And lots of fans have told me over the years that they wanted that book, too. My editor, however, said that series in horror don’t tend to sell very well, and encouraged me to write other novels. So… that’s what I’ve been doing for the past few years. I’ve published six unrelated novels since Sacrifice came out, and one of them, NightWhere, was a finalist for the Bram Stoker Award in 2012.”
With the demise of Leisure Books, Everson opted to “go it alone” with this release.
“In order to connect directly with the fans of those first two books (and hopefully make some new fans of the series!), I’m launching this Kickstarter Campaign so that I can get signed copies of Redemption – as well as the rest of the trilogy if readers want a matching set – in their hands.”
The back cover describes the new book:
Alex hadn’t really considered what would happen after she dragged Ariana through the portal in a desperate bid to close the gate between worlds. She hadn’t given sacrificing herself a thought; she’d just wanted to end the demonic summoning before it was too late.
But when Alex wakes up on the other side, in the world of the Curburide, she has to think fast if she ever wants to see Joe Kieran, or Earth, again. Her only ally is an occult serial killer. Demons are searching for both of them, and there’s nothing demons love more than human fear and pain. They feed on it. In the world of the Curburide, the demons are everywhere.
And they’re hungry.
