Ian McClellan ‘One Undead Step’ Review
Written by: David Blackthorn
This book had a good concept behind it: the moon landing being staged to divert attention from a looming zombie apocalypse. A wide assortment if characters are brought together to survive the night, adding there own unique characteristics to the storyline.
The author starts the action early, not drawing out the beginning in a slow, difficult to get into type of fashion. The characters end up in peril and have to fight their way through a city overrun by the dead. This may sound like the storyline of a typical, run of the mill zombie novel but the author adds some twists and turns to keep it interesting.
The characters are well developed and easy to get behind, as well as realistic and far from perfect.
Zombie novels and stories can be boring, unless an author can add a new twist to reinvigorate the genre. The author manages to do that here. An enjoyable read. I’m looking forward to reading more by this author.
Rating: 4.5/5
Hmm, not quite sure how a staged moon landing works to diver attention from something like a zombie attack, but it sounds interesting.
