“How do you kill a man who’s already dead?” that’s the question that keeps rolling around in Evan White’s head over and over. Crime Seen by Michaelbrent Collings is a crime thriller with just enough horror mixed in to grip you but not make the story hokey. This is a well written, fast-paced book that keeps you at the edge of your seat.
Evan White is a cop searching for answers, his wife was brutally murdered and although he had just found out she had been cheating on him before her murder, he still needs to know why and by whom. Angela Listings is his partner and she has his back along with his heart, she has nursed him through the worst of times after his wife’s murder and now they have become lovers. Together they are out to solve this crime.
Following up on another of the countless tips in the murder investigation; Evan and Angela find themselves in a seedy bar waiting for the informer. When the guy finally shows all is not what it seems, communications breakdown rather quickly and all hell breaks loose! Evan knows he just unloaded 3 shots into the guy but he has disappeared without a trace. While searching an alley the guy appears again taunting Evan and then disappearing once again. Is it all in his head or is this encounter real?
Trying to track the guy, Evan enters a Vietnamese mysticism shop where he meets Tuyen a young woman who works there; somehow she is tied into this mess but why? Along the way the lines of reality have become blurred. Evan realizes things are becoming complicated fast and he needs to find some answers soon. But will it really be enough; is it really what he wants? Sometimes ignorance is bliss.
