Michaelbrent Collings ‘The Colony: Descent’ Review
Written by: Paula Limbaugh
The Colony: Descent is the third book of the Colony saga by Michaelbrent Collings. I have been so looking forward to this as I was dying to know what was to become of Ken and his band of survivors!
The story picks up right where it left off in book 2, Ken’s toddler has purposely alerted the zombies to their location and it’s only a matter of time before they are overtaken. They have made it through the elevator shaft and now try to descend through a plane that had crashed halfway through the building they are in. The zombies have morphed into a newer more intelligent species and Ken’s girls are also changing, somehow now able to communicate with them. The zombies are now able to heal themselves, is there any way one can defeat, outsmart this new breed?
Survival mode again kicks in to high gear as the group tries to outrun the zombies without losing any of their members. This is another fast paced, action packed episode, although admittedly it can get a tad redundant. This doesn’t by any means take away from the story and I do recommend that you read this continuing saga. I had planned on reading just a couple of chapters and ended up reading the entire book in one sitting!
In this book Ken suffers some grievous injuries and Buck begins to lead the group to safety. Buck a former county contractor has a working knowledge of the city’s sewer system and hopes that this knowledge will see them to safety. A happy ending is not to be, as the group opens the door to escape and are met with new unspeakable horror!
Aargh! Yes, there is a book 4 in the wings and we must impatiently await the continuation of this bestselling series. Note to author; please HURRY!
Rating: 4.5/5
Wishes for a fantastic 2014 for you Matt. I hope you go from strength to strength.

Paula were you expecting this to be the last tale in this collection ? It is so frustrating when that happens. I certainly hope that you need not wait to long for the next one and perhaps the end of this journey. Perhaps you could research Mr. Michael Brent- Collins and find out if there is a release for the next one? Try to be patient…just me…Vitina

I’ve been waiting for this series of books to end, so I can finally buy them all. The reviews on it have been pretty decent. I just can’t stand the frustration of having to wait for a book, then not remembering all that has happened, and then having to start from book 1 all over again!
