In Case You Missed it, Sarah Pinborough’s ‘Beauty’ is Now Available
Written by: David Gatward
Sarah is developing quite the reputation. Outspoken, talented (annoyingly so), and seemingly overflowing with ideas, she is the critically acclaimed author of horror, thrillers and YA works. With a horror film currently in development (Cracked), writing for television and god knows what else, she clearly doesn’t sleep. Which I understand – sleep is weakness.
Her newest novel (you can order it here), published in October, breaks down as follows:
“BEAUTY is a beautifully illustrated retelling of the Sleeping Beauty story which takes all the elements of the classic fairytale that we love (the handsome prince, the ancient curse, the sleeping girl and, of course, the haunting castle) and puts a modern spin on the characters, their motives and their desires. It’s fun, contemporary, sexy, and perfect for fans of ONCE UPON A TIME, GRIMM, SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN and more.”
Is it pure horror? No. But so what? Fairytales are a dark place to wander, and to do so holding Sarah’s hand is, I’m absolutely sure, a total joy. Her writing is something you don’t want to miss. And neither’s Sarah herself for that matter – she’s one of the best tweeters I know and def worth a follow (@sarahpinborough)

In my own opinion if you look to fairy tales , the ones written long ago you have a lot of horror…The Brothers Grimm is not sweetness and light, just as an example…here we have something that sounds like a very good little bit of ‘Beauty’, written with a nice twist. As always…just me…vitina
