We will be hosting the inaugural meeting of the New York City chapter of the Arkham Horror Book Club afterward at the pub around the corner from Hypno-Tronic Comics.
Also available for purchase and signing will be Anthony and Jessica’s previous two books: The Mythological Dimensions of Doctor Who and the award winning The Mythological Dimensions of Neil Gaiman.
Long time resident’s of Staten Island, Anthony and Jessica utilize explore the Everyday occurrences, Staten Island landscapes and history with a macabre, decidedly Lovecraftian twist, where anything is possible. The landscape of their collective imagination allows the mundane world to transcend into a place where kittens journey in time and space, and sometimes pick up hitchhikers… where humans aren’t the only ones who bring their children to work….where storms can become creatures with their own appetite… and where a simple ice cream cone takes on a nefarious edge. The titular piece, “The Friendly Horror” is a contemporary post-script to H.P. Lovecraft’s “The Shadows over Innsmouth.”
